Description
The Pilea Peperomoides is the official name of the Chinese money plant which is also known as the Pancake Plant. This plant from China has thin stems with a beautiful round leaf per stem. The Pilea Peperomioides is easy to care for and fast growing. Before you know it, cute baby plants will be growing next to the parent plant and you can expand your collection by placing those in new pots.
The plant likes to be in partial shade and will tolerate drier air well. It does need some light, but direct sunlight is not advised, as this can burn the leaves.
The Pilea Peperomoides/pancake plant is not poisonous to people or animals and is therefore a safe choice for everyone.
Care of the Pilea Peperomioides/pancake plant:
Give this plant a splash of water regularly. The soil should remain slightly moist, but should never become too wet. If the soil remains wet, this will cause root rot.
If the leaf discolors or becomes limp, it has received too much water. It is then advised to remove the plant from the pot, let it drain until the soil is slightly moist, and then put it back in the pot.
The Chinese money plant does attract some dust that can be misted off with the plant mister, which will make your plant remain more beautiful and grow faster.
